Laura knew she wanted to be a graphic designer ever since working on her high school newspaper. After studying journalism at UT Austin and working in the magazine industry for several years across Austin, Las Vegas, and Dallas, she began designing invitations for friends on a freelance basis in her spare time. Once the workload increased, she left her day-job as an Art Director to run her custom stationery business, Art by Ellie, full-time from 2010-2017. In that time, Heymann became nothing short of an industry expert, and she now offers her artistic and consulting services to other designers, stationers, and wedding professionals. Additionally, Laura owns and operates Green Apple Lane, which provides graphic design services for small-to-medium-size businesses.
Heymann holds a bachelor's degree from Texas Woman's University with a dual emphasis in business and women's studies, and she currently lives in Texas with her husband. Interesting tidbit: she is already an "empty nester" in her 30s, thanks to the magic of step-parenting and adoption!
Simply put, supporting small businesses puts more money back into our communities. For this reason, and many others, I am extremely passionate about supporting small businesses, both personally and professionally. Your support of my art and consulting services further enables me to give back to several local and national organizations, such as the Tarrant Area Food Bank, Arlington Life Shelter, and Women Inspiring Philanthropy, as well as several educational institutions and scholarship funds.
